IDT Academy
Training for working with a complex well stock
IDT Academy is courses, simulators and practice on real cases: we raise engineering competency and prepare engineers to work with the IDT product line.
01
Working with data and analytics
We collect field data, check it and work out what it shows: production reports, summaries, telemetry.
02
Mathematical modelling
The physics and maths of production processes, from reservoir filtration to well nodal analysis.
03
Data-driven decisions
Evaluating interventions and operating modes by calculation, not by intuition.
04
Digital and AI skills
Working with ML models and automating routine calculations.
Training format
We teach in person or remotely: lectures, hands-on assignments and interactive calculations in Jupyter Notebook, where methodology, problem and code sit in one document. The material comes from production practice: the same data and the same complications you meet on a real well stock.
Example courses
Python for engineering modelling
For those who already write Python and want a stronger engineering foundation. We work through reservoir filtration problems, computational maths, machine learning, the Navier-Stokes equation and physics-informed neural networks on oil and gas engineering cases.

Production control centre engineer
For production engineers who work with a well stock. You put together the tools of a production control centre hands-on: check telemetry, catch frozen sensors, build a well model, calculate intervention gains and production profiles.

Practice on the IDT product line
A separate track covers the products themselves: IDT Well, IDT Asset, IDT Edge and IDT Workspace. An engineer learns to build a well model, work with calculation cards and make sense of the system's recommendations, all on the same interface they will use out on the field.
Simulators
Field simulator: a digital twin of field development
The team runs a company that has taken out a loan for a licence block. They plan interventions, analyse maps and cross-sections and borrow again, working in four-year iterations. After each iteration, experts review the team's decisions; the team with the highest profit wins.

Well simulator: a digital twin of production and operations
You play a production engineer. You size the pump and frequency for each well, catch complications before a well goes down, and use nodal analysis to check in advance whether an equipment change will pay off. Every decision shows up in the team’s production and margin by the next iteration.

What the training delivers
Understanding how a field and a well work
Worked through on production cases: where the operating mode comes from and what breaks it.
Confident work with field data and models
The same maths that underpins the IDT products.
Risk-free practice
A mistake on the simulator shows up immediately, and it costs nothing but the time to talk it through.
A shared methodology
A common language and approach for new and experienced engineers alike.
